With the rapid national economy development, our national vehicle population increases year by year, which is consequent on the rise in annual fuel consumption sharply, therefore, China has become the second largest oil consumption country next to America. Chinese government has attached importance to the vehicle fuel consumption gradually, and implemented a series of laws and regulations, such as"Measurement Method of Fuel Consumption for Light-duty Vehicle","Limitation for Passenger Car Fuel Consumption", etc., so as to restrain the vehicle fuel consumption. However, the above laws and regulations focus on new productions, which are not fit for the using ones. In addition, the fuel consumption of new vehicles will be increased with their states. Nowadays, our national vehicle examination system can not actualize the fuel consumption examination for using ones; namely, those using vehicles cannot be monitored at present.The dissertation focuses on the theory research, regards the Jetta EFI as research subject. In the annual examination, vehicles will be tested by ASM emission system examination, which synchronizes with collecting fuel injection pulse width and engine speed signals through OBD. Under the condition that annual workloads do not increase, the fast testing for vehicle fuel consumption would be accomplished.Based this thesis on"fuel injection cumulative method"for measuring fuel consumption theory, I classify it into three sections, as follows:First, it regards the Jetta EFI as the study subject, based on analyzing EFI engine fuel injection working principle,defining the fuel consumption measurement method that measures pulse width and engine speed through OBD.Second, it focuses on analysing the concrete operating process and method of ASM simple driving modes in depth. Meanwhile, design the fast testing fuel consumption trial proposal that combines with ASM simple driving modes.Third, it discusses some fuel consumption datas that collected in 25km/h,40km/h and the mid-accelerated transition section through several vehicle tests. The results show there is no relationship between the vehicle emission eligibility criteria and fuel consumption directly. After analysing those vehicles fuel consumptions datas in different mileage, different maintenance and different emission, and combining with the datas provided by MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic China), I obtain the fast judgment criterion for Jetta excessive fuel consumption preliminarily.
