Research On Comprehensive Psychiatric Hospitals In Medium-sized Cities

Now hospitals in China are going through considerable transformation, which is dominated by the economic system, medical model as well as development of technology. The influence on the formation of hospital values, analysis of functional structure and the creation of space form, etc. is definitely profound. With the development of the social economy, population growth and deterioration of the ecology, human health is also encountering unprecedented new problems and challenges. It also brings increasing demand for more construction of modern hospitals. There have been many projects, either new ones from sketch or renovation, bringing new developing opportunities for hospital architecture. With modern mental illness being bothering families and government for long, how to build suitable rehabilitation places has been an urgent problem right now and will still remain so in the future, thus making it an emergency to carry out the research on modern hospital design for mental illness.With the function of dealing with Mental Rehabilitation and recovering treatment, the layout of hospital needs to deal with the functional division and the streamline organization, solve the unique problems that kind of hospital has in order to creat a decent medical rehabilitation environment. As the process of hospital design, development and construction will be influenced by a lot of external factors, besides the diversity of hospital Features, management, Regional differences and planning and management will also influence the hospital design on different levels, this research will dig deeper on the designing theory of hospital for treating mental illness and its application in four aspects----overall plan and design, function structure and architecture formation, environment and patients'psychology, space arrangement.This research design focuses on the relocation project of Shaoxing No.7 People's Hospital, Zhejiang, trying to find some key points of modern hospital design for treating mental illness by the survey on the site, information collection of relative theories and the analysis of detailed design cases. The author will put forward some realistic suggestions about the architecture and environment design with the traits of psychological treatment, which could be used in the layout and constr-uction decision on psychological polyclinic in moderate cities, thus making the exploration of hospital design and construction of this kind.
