With the voice of environment protection and resources conservation is growing, the electric vehicle has been developed fast under the joint efforts of governments and vehicle manufacturers. Because it is gradual concerned that maintenance and testing for the performance of storage battery, which is power source for the electric vehicle, for the growing popularity of electric vehicles, the dedicated storage battery maintenance and testing system has been produced.However, there is a large gap between domestic battery maintenance and testing technology and the international advanced level, represented by Arbin in United States and Digatron in Germany. For the development of Chinese storage battery industry and putting it into international market competition, this paper, according to the performance characteristics and maintenance requirements of most of storage battery at present, proposes a new type of battery maintenance and testing system, which uses advanced power electronics and computer control, charge and discharge integrated structure, through the whole process of full charge and discharge, to achieve activation of the battery and the battery performance of a comprehensive test.The frame for the network of storage battery maintenance and testing system is constructed and the monitoring network of the system are designed and implemented in this paper. Firstly, the paper proposes the entire planning of the monitoring network of storage battery maintenance and testing system, and then introduces the choice of network bus, the features and structure of the CAN bus which has been selected to construct the network and the detailed design of the application layer and physical layer. On this basis, the paper detailed analyzes that the design of the hardware and software of the sampling nodes and software implementation of the monitoring node. The design of the sampling nodes is to accomplish the hardware and software to measure the parameters, including voltage, temperature, current and electric quantity, and other peripheral circuits based on the processor MC9S12D64. The making of the monitoring node is mainly to design the control module and the data management Module based on Lab VIEW. Finally, the design feasibility has been verified, according to the on-site operation situation of the entire system.
