With the development of China’s aviation industry, especially the carrier-based aircraft, corrosionmonitoring and maintenance have become extremely important. However, the corrosion inspectionand maintenance of the aircraft structure in China are still dominated by traditional waterproof sealingand regular check which are inefficient and costly. Therefore, based on the demand of aircraftstructure corrosion inspection and maintenance, this paper researched online aircraft corrosiveenvironmental monitoring, and designed small, low power corrosive environment monitoring node,with which the aircraft structure corrosion could be guided by. The main contents in this thesis arelisted as follows:Firstly, the environmental characteristics are researched and analyzed, four monitoringparameters are determined: temperature, humidity, chloride-ion-concentration and time-of-wetness.Independent developed chloride, time-of-wetness sensors and a mature commercial temperature&humidity sensor are chosen. An intelligent online corrosive environment monitoring node is designedto sense and control them. The battery-powered node is designed with measuring and controllingcircuits, and able to process mixed-signal and weak-signal. The data processing, local storage andserial communications are also achieved on this small, low-power node.Secondly, the environmental monitoring corrosion software system is designed, the nodesoftware could periodically control sensor measuring, data processing and internal storage; PCsoftware which is compatible with the node software, could control the node measurement, store dataand display the monitoring data of node in real time.Thirdly, the functional verification of environmental monitoring system are carried out to verifythe accuracy of the temperature and humidity sensor, the performance of the chloride-ion sensor andtime-of-wetness sensor, the practical application factors of time-of-wetness are analyzed andfunctionally verified.
