Research Vietnam Truc Lam Zen Monastery Gardens

Since the introduction of Buddhism to Vietnam during the first century, it has quickly adapted to the lifestyles of Vietnamese people. In the process of formation and development of the country, Buddhism has not encountered any obstacles to integrate different classes of society in Vietnam. The religion has absorbed into Vietnamese culture easily and naturally just like water absorbing to sand. Buddhism is widely spread throughout different regions of Vietnam and it has a certain place from the imperial to villages of Vietnam. Thus, it became a tangible Truc Lam Zen Buddhism of Vietnam. Truc Lam Zen Buddhism is a combination of a long history between Vietnamese Zen and Chinese Zen. It is also a fundamental interaction with socio-cultural in the development of Vietnam. Truc Lam Zen Buddhism has a profound impact to the Vietnamese culture especially in the gardens, architecture, philosophy, and art.Truc Lam Zen Monastery Garden is a part of the Monastery which includes green trees environmental; both inside and outside of the monastery. The main attachment of the monastery to the whole garden includes green trees inside the monastery garden and green trees surround it. It could also belonging to religious worship services and other religious architectures. The monastery gardens are small and big throughout the various towns and villages in Vietnam. Truc Lam Zen Monastery Garden is affected by geographical locations, weather conditions, local customs and other factors influence the formation of their own characteristics. In this dissertation, the main focus is researching Truc Lam Zen Monastery Gardens of Vietnam.The objective of this dissertation is Truc Lam Zen Monastery Garden through the historical process of inheritance, development, protection and innovation as a basis for a starting point. Through some typical Truc Lam Zen Monastery Gardens in-depth analysis, this would facilitate to master the concept of garden design, garden arrangement, architectural styles, plants arrangement techniques, plant species selections and implications. This research provides theoretical reference and reasoning guidance in the process of construction and development of Truc Lam Zen Monastery Garden Art Design while other styles of modern garden design can also derive reference.
