High voltage power line carrier communication is an indispensable means of communication for power system. However, traditional analog devices can not fully meet the current market requirements for communication quality. The paper discusses the development, application and basic principle of power line carrier communication technology. Aiming at enhancing the data rate and reliability of the communication on high voltage power line, digital single sideband and multiplexer are proposed. Weaver modulation and IWA demodulation are selected to realize the SSB module, so that the carrier phase deviation can be avoided. With the adoption of multi-item filtering structure and multi-level technology in the sample rate conversion, the amount of computing and storage requirements is greatly reduced. Data compression, digital multiplexer and V.34 modem are applied to the multiplexer module, which can realize the transmission of multi-path voice and data with the data rate up to 33.6 kbps.TMS320C6416T DSP is used as the main processor and controller. Around the DSP system architecture, EDMA, McBSP and EMIF are applied to build a framework for the system. Real time digital transmission and processing are detailedly introduced.
