As the world industry and economy high-speed developing, the Earth ecological environment worsening has caused great concern around the world. Mankind is facing with severe challenges about development and protection. Relevant experts believe that the 21st century is eco-century, that human society will gradually move from industrial to ecological society. In a sense, the next round of international competition is the competition in the ecological environment; to a city, which city's ecological environment better, will be able to better attract talent, capital and materials, and stand in the advantageous position in competition.By analyzing and explorering Huashan's landscape ecological pattern, the paper seeks to choose fitted their own conditions and distinctive development direction and planning. Provide the necessary suggestions and recommendations to achieve sustainable development of Huashan. And provide basis and reference for other town's ecological planning and construction.Exerting RS-GIS technology, based on landscape pattern and ecological suitability analysis of Huashan new town in Wuhan, distribute the programming area's ecological protection grade. Research and discuss construction region controlling and ecological planning of ecological corridors and nodes, matrix improving and construction region. At last, draw the following conclusions:1. Landscape pattern analysis of Huashan new town.Based on RS-GIS technology, classify with 2007 TM image maps. Applying computer and manual classification, selected landscape pattern indices of different level. Calculate and analysis these landscape pattern indices. Research and discuss Huashan's landscape pattern actually characteristics exerting Fragstats software. Draw the result: the number of Huashan's patches is relatively lower, fragmentation degree is low; the shape of patches is complicated. The border character between patches also is complicated; key patch types accounted for a larger proportion of the landscape, material and energy migration between classes are relatively smooth, corridor is sorely lacking, especially aserious short of green road corridor; corridors' Circuitry is very low, connectivity is more high, but north-south ecological corridor is less, lack of connectivity.2. Ecological suitability analysis of Huashan new town.Adopting mathematical combination method and GIS technology, according to the actual situation of Huashan, select evaluation factors and build evaluation index system. Entergrating the map overlay method with weight method. Obtain each evaluation unit's appropriate value and generate a suitability analysis map. Among them, one, two, three and four grade's area is respectively 19.68 km~2, 25.03 km~2, 15.60 km~2 and 5.52 km~2.3. Ecological protection planning of Huashan new townComprehensive analyze the conclusion of ecological suitability and landscape pattern analysis. Combining with overall research about Huashan's natural ecological researches and landscape pattern planning, propose ecological protection planning framework of Huashan. Protection is divided into four levels: the first level focus on conserving natural ecosystems; the second level focus on restoration of ecological functions; the third level focus on fostering and protecting eco-system; the fourth level focus on controlling the size of the existing, through the establishment of protection areas and tasks to achieve the goal of ecological protection of in different time slots.Delineated build regional control framework in the region, implement sub-control, hierarchical management, protection of ecological environment in the city of Victoria. Ban area in which to build is 42.80 km~2, limited building area is 19.18 km~2, appropriate building area is 3.96 km~2.4. Landscape pattern planning of Huashan new town.On the basis of landscape pattern analysis, applying landscape ecological principles, combining regional natural conditions, the level of socio-economic development and regional landscape spatial pattern's distribution. According to the basic landscape pattern model of landscape ecology, that is, "patch-corridor-matrix" model, adjust the number, area and composition of every patches and corridors. Program Huashan's landscape ecological structure as "one ring two nuclears two patches, three vertical three horizontal two nodes".
