With the deep application of GIS in geotechnical engineering, the study of the GIS applying in the slope becomes one of the hot issues. The study is based on the slope stability theory, fuzzy theory and finite element analysis theory, to developing software system, the final completion of slope stability systematic estimates and analysis. Main tasks include the following:First, do in-depth learning on Fuzzy-based evaluation method of slope stability t and developing the slope stability evaluation module based on relational database (DBMS); second, establishing spatial database and attribute database. In addition, learning the transform algorithm between GIS vector data and raster data and analytical method based on Grid; third, through the rapid establishment of GIS slope profile model and three-dimensional geological model, developing the interactive systems (GIS-Slope), and the data interface to complete the finite element analysis of pre-treatment, and, ultimately, used finite element software (ANSYS) of the model calculated and the map; Finally, put the ANSYS results into GIS-Slope, through a variety of programming generated contour maps and thematic maps. The study obtained some theoretical and practical value of research results, combined Geographical Information Systems with numerical calculation by ANSYS and Supermap GIS to achieve rapid calculation of the slope evaluation model, efficient computation, and makes this process highly visible. Set up a bridge in the GIS and the single slope stability-the two independent areas, to provide a new way of thinking, give full play to the advantages of both GIS and of finite element method.
