Environmental and energy issues have become two major problems confronting world's development, so they also become hot issues which are commonly concerned by the world. Adsorption refrigeration system has the two major characteristics: environmental protection and energy saving. Compared with the traditional cooling technology, it contains a greater development potential,and it has received widespread academic attention.However, the main problem of the development of adsorption refrigeration technology is the poor performance of heat and mass transfer in adsorbent bed, leading to small cooling coefficient, low refrigeration power and large size. This paper focuses on the heat transfer in adsorption bed, and has designed a simplified adsorption bed integrated with split heat pipe. It not only improves the heat transfer performance of the adsorption bed, but also realizes the remote heat exchanging,avoid the heat and cold fluid contacts the adsorption bed which prevents corrosion on the bed body and improves the reliability of the bed body. Then through theoretical calculation and application of computer software this paper has designed a adsorption refrigeration system integrated with split heat pipe used in small vessels. The main works are summarized as follows1. Designed an adsorption bed integrated with split heat pipe, and simplified.its structure by studying and comparing the heat transfer performance of several different types of existing adsorbent beds, considering with the environment in small ships.2. Designed an adsorption refrigeration system based on the split heat pipe adsorbent bed. Designed and calculated for the evaporator and condenser considering with actual situation.3. Analyzed and calculated on the heat transfer process of split heat pipe, listed equations and solved the equations by MATLAB to determine the parameters of split heat pipe.4. Designed the size and structure of adsorbent bed on the principle that it reduces the size of bed and makes the bed's structure more reliable. Chosed a best parameters of split heat pipe by analysed the variation laws of bed size and area of heat pipe in bed caused by the variation of the amount and size of the split heat pipe by using MATLAB.
