As the most important place for residents'outdoor activities, such as leisure, entertainment, body-building and communication, Central Green Land is the main public open space and the active place. Its openness design which is closely related to the life quality, spiritual needs and physical and spiritual health of residents promotes communications between residents and plays an important role in the molding of the space of the residential area.The thesis has a research on the openness of Central Green Land in residential area. The openness of Central Green Land is a relative concept, displaying different degrees of openness on several levels. The thesis has a generation on several elements which infect the openness of Central Green Land, through the research on the two levels of space and function of Central Green Land, which sums up that openness includes three characteristics, which are territory, guidance and contain. Territory and guidance belong to the space's level of openness. Design of Territory means to bring out positive psychological sense for residents; and guidance is the openness of space in shape, guiding residents'activities through the molding of the space; at the same time, contain is the openness of function and use. The construction of the openness of Central Green Land should form an openness pattern on both interior and exterior, holding two basic principles of humanity and integrity, emphasizing the openness of Central Green Land on the whole structure in the residential area in macroscopic level, and emphasizing the openness of Central Green Land on the expression in the secondary level, more over, emphasizing the details design on microcosmic level such as sights and establishments.The openness design improves environmental quality and service condition of the Central Green Land, attracting residents to go out and participate in kinds of activities on Central Green Land, promoting community communication and increasing community cohesion; bringing in a vital community, and promoting harmonious development of society.
