With the rapid development of science and technology as well as economy, the construction of long span bridges crossing rivers and straits in china has entered a new era. Collisions between ships and bridges that built in heavy navigation channels occurred frequently, which made bridges damage and collapse. Ship-bridge collisions are often catastrophic events, big probability of such accidents have aroused broad attention of the ship area and the bridge area. In recent years, study on the bridge resisting ship colliding has been carried out broadly.Ship collision is a complicated non-linear dynamic response process under extreme large load in a very short time. The structures in collision region often surpass elastic state quickly and turn into plastic state companying with large deformation, flexure and fracture. Because of the complicacy and the uncertain factors in collision process, it is nearly impossible to make theoretic analysis by building up an accurate mathematic model. Therefore, numerical simulation by finite element analyses will play a more and more important role in the analysis of collision problems between ship and bridge or equipment forant-collision.This paper is mainly about two questions: colliding mechanics mechanism and energy absorbing characteristic. On the basis of studying and discussing the key technology of compute calculate and emulate, employing ANSYS/LS-DYNA program, which is the universal nonlinear dynamic analysis software, a head-on collision between ship and cushion cap designed for Yichang Yangtze River Railway Bridge is simulated and presented, the simulation of time history course of full-scale mini-collision between ship and cushion cap was calculated. In this thesis, I analysis the Dynamic response of Component while the impact occurred. The major work in this thesis is listed as follows:(1) Simulating the ship-bridge collision and building ship and bridgemodel accurately, analysising the results.(2) Basing on the mechnaics mechnaism of colliding between shiP and bridge, discussingthe key Problems in collision numeriea lsimulation sueh as the fundmaental controlling equations, the FEM disPersion equations, the material strain rate sensitivity and the friction force effet etc. (3) By building the model of mechnaics mechnaism of colliding between shiP and bridge, obtaining the dynamic response of bridge pier, impact force time-curve, energy time-curve and the deformation of bridge pier in collision.(4) A review is made for the research state of dynamic constitutive mode of concrete. The Cowper-symonds constitutive model is used to simulate the deformation of bridge. The Colorado constitutive model is used to simulate the deformation of bridge pier.
