Safety Culture Building And Evaluation In Construction Enterprises

With construction industry boomed and its gross product constantly increased, construction safety-related accidents frequently happened which made huge losses to the development of social economy. According to the theory of track-cross of casualty accidents, accidents caused by unsafe status of matters and people's unsafe behaviors , which can be summed up people as the main factor. Traditional safety management was hard and ignores the influences of personnel's concepts and attitudes. Safety culture which affected employees was internal and can improve theirs' safety consciousness, eliminate unsafe behaviors to avoid accidents effectively. This paper made qualitative and quantitative researches on safety culture of construction enterprise.The theory of safety culture was reviewed firstly. Based on this, the safety culture of construction enterprises was divided into four levels. At the same time, a new system of strengthening safety culture in construction enterprises was advanced. It built a safety culture questionnaire of construction enterprise based on the above contents. After elected a representative construction enterprise to make a safety culture survey and made use of factor analysis to analyze callback data, then extracted six factors which had important impacts on this construction enterprise. These factors were safety participation of employees, input of safety resources, systems and norms, safety concerns of management, ability to safely construct, inherent power of safety. It analyzed the safety culture status quo in this construction enterprise and pointed out its existent problems, combining with questionnaires and above six influencing factors. In the end countermeasures and advices of improving safety culture were given.Safety culture questionnaire built in this paper and method of extracting factors can be used in other construction enterprises for safety culture evaluation. Influencing factors which extracted in the paper had the same practical significance in other enterprises. Countermeasures and advices were practical which were advanced according to existing problems and shortcomings that by Investigation and assessment in the paper.
