WIM technology works as an effective management tool for vehicle overloading problem, and have achieved good results in applications in home and overseas. Then an idea of combining WIM with ETC is proposed, which can be applied in our country to solve the problems of existent WIM system.In this thesis, WIM system based on ETC is studied.And the overall program is designed. Then a brief description of technology with information exchange based on DSRC is made. The key factors affecting the measure definition is analyzed, from both related and irrelated with vehicles. Compared the advantages and disadvantages of the present weighing sensor, piezoelectric quartz sensor array is selected as a weighing unit. Then the scheme of the sensor array is present, which can improve the weighing accuracy and system efficiency for the corresponding data acquisition system from the original detection. Based on the existing data transmission system, a data transer project is proposed which combined a serial communication and DSRC communication.Then a data transfer protocol is designed, which achieves the transmission of the whole vehicle information.Based on the existing processing algorithms and considered the signal characteristic of piezoelectric quartz sensors, a more feasible data-processing algorithm is designed. The wavelet theory was applied to filter the high frequency noise and intermediate frequency noise. Then the phenomenon of "miss axle signal" is corrected by an integrality analyse used signal correlation. Finally, utilized the sensor output value of sensor and speed of vehicles, the BP neural network model is established and used to get the static vehicle weight vehicle. Experiment results show that the algorithm has a high accuracy and reliability.Compared with the current WIM, the WIM system based on ETC can achieve accurate weighing result and a quickly pass by. The system will have abroad application prospect.
