Standardization is a comprehensive technical basal work. It is a guideline to organize modern production and trade, and an important component of scientific management. With the development of high-speed railway in China, and the introduction of 200km/h and higher speed train, railway standardization plays an increasingly important role in speeding up the modernization process in railway equipment and the equipment manufacturing industry. Presently, Chinese EMU body structure strength design mainly references to the relevant foreign norms, which has played a catalytic role on EMU design of our country. However, certain gaps between the actual operations line and the road situation make the design exist some imperfect factors. Therefore, based on foreign design specifications, developing EMU design specifications in accordance with Chinese national conditions is great significant.The paper chooses the head body of the CRH5 as a model, and the correctness of the model is verified. By analyzing and comparing car body design standard EN12663, UIC566, JIS E7106 and "Strength design test appraisal temporary stipulation for 200km/h and higher speed train", the paper calculates and analyzes the model car in different conditions of longitudinal load, vertical load, longitudinal and vertical load combination case, and aerodynamic load. According to the above norms, the paper initially gives some advice on the car body strength design standard of EMU.
