| In recent years, the incidence of mammary cancer of Chinese females increased rapidly due to the improving of living standard and the change in components of diet. The mammary cancer has become a kind of common disease which seriously threatens the health of Chinese females. At present,molybdenum and rhodium two-targeted mammography is the only effective method in early diagnosis of mammary cancer, because the characristics of the lesion of mammary cancer are obvious on X-ray graphics before the leision is infiltrated. As the technology of computer, networks and image processing developing rapidly, examination of mammary using X-ray also became digital. Comparing to traditional mammography machine, the digital mammography machine can get digital graphics more clearly and its operation is more convenient. The location and diagnosis of lesion is more accurate so the surgeries and(or) biopsies unnecessary can be avoided. With the popularization of PACS and DICOM standard the modern digital mammography machines are all required to confirm to DICOM standard in order to merged into PACS, thus the effection of examination will be increased, the film-free management and sharing of medical information will be realized.The mammary digital image workstation is the user terminal of PACS, and it's also an important part of digital mammography system. The main function of the workstation is browsing, storage, filing, printing and processing of mammary images and so on. It can also completes interactions with PACS inside the framework of DICOM,such as uploading,searching and introducing of images to realize the sharing of information inside aone hospital and between defferent hospitals. Telemedicine is also become one of the research direction of image worksation with the rapid developing of networks and the improving of DICOM standard.This paper first analysis the functional requirment of mammary digital image workstation which should confirm to DICOM3.0 standard, completes the overall design of image workstation, including the database design of the workstation and describes the DICOM standard and its data organization. Then this article makes a discussion of the pre-processing method of mammary images, first it realizes the pick-up of the mammary region using iterative-threshold,region fill and median filter, then it puts forward a method combining subsection histogram equalization and auto contrast enhancement which could extand the contrast of the mammary image as well as displaying details of high pixel data of the image. At last it uses the subsection weighted unsharp masking method to enhance the edge detail of the image which also restraine the noise of low-frequency regions. This paper analysis the format of DICOM image intensively, realizes the resolution of file-meta information of DICOM file through programming and introduces the DCMTK tool kits to implement the display, conversion and storage of pixel data of mammary images. This text also analysis the file format of DICOMDIR file and realizes the making and parsing of DICOMDIR file considering the need of batch importing and CD burning of mammary images. Then this paper introduces the mechanism and basic procedure of DICOM network communication, realizes the DICOM network communication of the workstation using the DCMTK tools. Finally this article makes design of functional modules of the image workstation software under development environment of VC++.NET. The workstation is proved to satisfy the specified demand after been used. |
