With the emergence and the application of CT, the reconstruction of 3-D theory based on layer data has been developed. Recently, it is combined with the arisen RP technology, and based on the 3-D reconstruction model, all kinds of man-made apparatus are made, by using the special biologic material. It has remarkable achievement in medical field, especially in surgical operation. Therefore, the research of 3-D reconstruction based on layer contour has important academic and practical meanings. As a part of the thesis, this dissertation focuses on how to get the object contour from CT layer image, which prepares for the posterior research. Some concrete research are shown below:1) The display technology of medical image under Windows flat is studied. The traditional way of catching image is to input CT film to computer by scanner, which brings us noises artificially and worsens the image effect. With the creating of the DICOM standard, more and more medical equipment are performing in this protocol. But the medical image in DICOM format can not be displayed directly under Windows plat. In this dissertation the DICOM image is displayed by converting DICOM format into BMP format.2) The object contour recognition and extraction of layer image is studied. In this dissertation digital image processing technology is applied to process the medical image including image smoothness, image enhancement, edge detection, threshholding and contour extraction. After the image processing, the single pixel, closed and continuous contour on the layer is obtained.3) Vectorization of the layer contour is studied. The contour which was extracted from image can not be applied in 3-D reconstruction. The 8 neighbourhood method is introduced to track the boundary in this dissertation, and the contour is described in Freeman chain code form, then we combine the points with same chain code to get the contour described in straight line segments. Under the permissible precision condition, the straight line segments are combined by setting up threshold. In this way, the polygon approaching of the contour is realized and the data amount is diminished.4) A software of medical image display and processing is developed by VC++.
