The turning performance is very important for all vehicles. Automobile electric power steering (EPS) is one superior technique which supply power to steering system of automobile with motor directly .It has many conspicuous virtue which other traditional instrument didn't have , such as low energy consumption , environment protection , high safety etc . It has become one sign of future development direction of high technique of automobile. It is not only the number of testing equipments and the workloads of testing will be increased, but also the cost of the testing will be higher, if we use traditional hardware testing equipments. So a convenient and quickly testing instrument is needed. Based on the concept of virtual instrument, combined with the measurement and analysis techniques of EPS, and using Graphic Programming Language LabVIEW, the subject constructs a measurement and analysis system of the EPS based on virtual instrument under Windows environment.Firstly, the paper introduces the conception and content of virtual instrument, and then discusses the generation theory of EPS detailedly. After finished the theory analysis, the collectivity design of the system is developed with Graphic Programming Language LabVIEW. Then the hardware selection and configuration, and the software structure and its modules' function are introduced .At the same time, the functions of the system is verified and corrected. Finally, verifies the correctness of the program and the reliability of the system through test with analog signals.The testing and analytic system of EPS adopts the idea of modular design and offers the functions of collection, measurement, storage, analysis and display .The functions of FFT transition, correlation, power spectrum, etc are realized in the software. the virtue testing system of electronic power steering system in this article is very convenient and advanced , high stabilization, high precision, low expense. Furthermore, it has a good performance of maintenance and extendibility.
