In order to achieve the purpose of energy saving and rapid warming,more and more automobile engine cooling system uses electronic water pumps.Electronic water pump is an important part of the engine cooling system,its performance directly determines the cooling effect of the engine cooling system,so the detection of electronic water pump performance parameters are of great significance.It's prone to the phenomenon of failure in bearing wear,water seal and plastic seal aging and cracking after a period of time using electronic water pump,but the probability of failure in internal motor and control circuit board is small.Because of the high price of electronic water pump,so it has the value of regeneration.After replacing the failure of the parts,the electronic water pump can be regenerated.The regenerated electronic water pump needs to carry out performance testing to determine whether it meets the engine cooling system requirements.So in this paper,we developed an electronic water pump detection system based on virtual instrument technology.In this paper,firstly introduced the principle and test method of the performance of electronic water pump,determined the basic function of the detection system,and studied the detection principle and method of electronic water pump performance parameters such as flow rate,head,inlet and outlet pressure,current,voltage,power and efficiency.Then we designed the hardware and software of the detection system.The hardware part mainly includes the selection of the sensors and data acquisition card and the design of the signal conditioning circuit.The software of the detection system is compiled by the virtual instrument software development platform of LabVIEW.The software includes hardware control area,the signal acquisition and processing area,the result display area,the result recording area and the result query area,and designed a friendly human-computer interface to realize the function of the detection system.On the basis of the open test bed,combined with the sensor technology and computer technology,built the electronic water pump test bench based on the virtual instrument technology.Finally,this paper tested the performance parameters of a certain type of electronic water pump,and analyzed the test result.The experimental result shows that the design scheme of the electronic water pump detection system is feasible,reliable,easy to use,and has a high detection efficiency and high precision.The accuracy of the detection system meets the requirements of the regenerative electronic water pump performance test.
