Protection And Alteration On Elevations Of The Historic Commercial Streets

This paper aims on the preservation and alteration of elevations of historic commercial streets to achieve the requirements of function and sustainable development in the context of protection principles of historic soft environment. Firstly,the "historic commercial street" is defined and the elements and feasibilities of the protection and alteration of it is analyzed.Secondly,with relevant theoretic literature review,the requirements and methodologies of preservation and alteration of historic commercial streets are synthesized with some relevant domestic cases.At last,Zhongshan Road which located in Xiamen City is chosen for in-depth study.Based on the current general situation and questionnaire survey,the alteration framework of Zhongshan Road is analyzed and then the synthesis of theoretic requirements and methodologies are discussed and illustrated. What's more,according to the domestic experience of preservation and alteration of elevations of historic commercial streets,the detailed action plan of Zhongshan Road is raised.
