In the 19 century later, with the construction of China Eastern Railway, Harbin began to develop to the big city in the Far East. From 1898 to 1949, the 50 years are the very important time for Harbin modern architecture. In these years, the buildings in the DaoWai district are obviously the cultural exchange between Chinese and Western architectural features.Then the Chinese Baroque buildings become. And most the Chinese Baroque buildings are in DaoWai district. These buildings were not designed and constructed by architects who received any professional training; they were designed and constructed by people in the DaoWai district. It is not only with local architectural forms of Harbin, but also one of the explorations by ordinary people in the modern history. Because these ordinary people are suffering from local cultural impact, the many aspects of modern architecture at the DaoWai district are subtly influenced by local culture. The modern architecture at the DaoWai district was not just a cultural exchange between Chinese and Western architectural features, it carries very strong local flavor. The modern architecture at the DaoWai district has presented many of the characteristics of local culture, the construction form was difficult appear in the past. The paper also is the author of such a special interest in the phenomenon of building.Firstly, paper research from the local culture of the Chinese baroque buildings at the DaoWai district, analysis the local culture characteristic. Secondly, analysis the characteristic of the baroque architecture and its impact on the Chinese Baroque buildings of Harbin. Finally, summarized the external morphology of the Chinese Baroque buildings at the DaoWai district, analysis and comparison deeply on street space, courtyard space and building decoration of the DaoWai district. We will furtherly understand the value of the Chinese Baroque buildings by deeply analysis and comparison; I wish to provide some useful information for contemporary architecture design.
