Research On Berth Capacity Of Container Terminal And Indicators Related

The fast economy development,especially constantly increasing foreign trade, caused that our country's container freight handling capacity enhanced with an incredible speed.Since 1995,the container freight handling capacity kept going up by 20%yearly.By 2007,our country's container freight handling capacity even made a record,reaching 100 million.However,during growth in container throughput,the contradiction of insufficient in many terminals capacity was revealing gradually at the same time,which actually completed freight handling capacity exceeded terminal through capacity generally,and container dock was out of burthen.Therefore,it had been one of the core problems about how to further calculate the throughput capacity of terminal reasonably,which was paid much attention to by port and specially by planning department,and needed to be solved urgently in order to ensure that the port could meet demand for container transport without overlapping investment and the waste of resources in future.To resolve the problem above,firstly,this study compared and analyzed many kinds of calculation methods of container terminal throughput capacity to find the indicators which closed to actual throughput of berth going beyond.Then,illustrating the system,production process and influencing factors of container berth in detail,and based on this,making use of indicator approach and queuing theory to analyze the indicators mentioned above deeply and systematically.Finally,offering practicable suggestion to get design throughput capacity of berth correspond with actual freight handling capacity.The research priority of this article are as follows:(1) Making research on the index close to calculation of berth capacity.Analyzing the influence quantitatively that arrival interval distribution of liner brought to berth utilization,trend of larger-sized container vessel brought to Machine-hour efficiency and ship-hour efficiency,and unitization of container berth brought to operating gantry crane number at the same time.(2) In the light of arrival interval distribution of container liner,drawing on model of E_k/M/S to analyze throughput capacity of container terminal instead of M/M/S.(3) Making deep research on the capacity of yard and cargo to distribute and transport of container terminal which related to berth capacity,and based on this, analyzing the relationship between throughput capacity of berth and other system capacity.
