With the use of the air spring in the vehicle, controllability and stability of vehicle and automobile ride comfort have been greatly improved. In order to improve the automobile self-development capacity, shorten the vehicle development cycle, reduce development costs, air spring system of bus has been studied in this paper. Advantage with use of air spring has been validated though simulation and analysis and evaluation points of the whole vehicle.Firstly, this paper explains the content and significance of the subject, and introduces air spring suspension system and characteristics of its air spring. Then the matching study of vehicle suspension system has been made, and influence upon controllability and stability of vehicle and automobile ride comfort has been explained particularly.Secondly, multi-body dynamics model of the whole vehicle, including front torsion bar spring independent suspension, rear air suspension, steering system, body, tires and the road system, have been set up in virtual prototyping environment ,and made a deep analysis about the movement and connection between the components. Finally, on this basis of the whole vehicle dynamics model of the whole vehicle, this paper set up experimental parameter and environment by controllability and stability test procedure of automobile and automobile ride test procedure, and made simulation test , including steady static circular test, steering wheel angle step test, steering wheel angle pulse test, pylon course test ,pulse input running test and random input running test; give evaluation points on the test results of simulation by GB; and validate improvement of controllability and stability of vehicle and automobile ride comfort with use of air spring suspension.
