Ride comfort is one of the prime performances of modern vehicle. The newly developed vehicle must be evaluated and tested before entering into market. The traditional evaluation method is to build the vehicle model with mathematical differential equation, then pre-evaluate its comfort performance in the frequency domain. All the conclusions are interpreted and expressed in curve and data, which is invisual and lack of interactivity.This dissertation relies on the dean fund of Mechanical and energy engineering college which is "test and diagnose research based on VR&VI". This dissertation focused on ride comfort research in virtual reality. The details are studied as follows:The first chapter talks about the background and summarizes the development of ride comfort research, virtual reality and virtual prototype. Main contents and general structure scheme of this dissertation are also presented.The second chapter introduces the basic theory and main content of virtual prototyping technology which is the key technology in building car prototype and car dynamic analysis. This chapter is the basis of next work.The third chapter use two methods to build dynamics model for vehicle ride comfort analysis: one is two freedom vehicle ride comfort differential equation model, Combined with time domain model of random road input, we got the vehicle's moving and libration diaplacement. The other method, we build a car virtual prototyping using ADAMS/car, totally with 97 freedom degrees, every factor that influences the vehicle ride comfort is considered, finally complete the time domain simulation on random road input.The forth chapter analyses the conditions, build comfort virtual testing system, introduces how to select and use the hardware and software in this system., and analyses the basic theory of solid virtual.The fifth chapter bases on the foregoing, using VC6.0 and WTK software, sets up the ride comfort research in virtual reality.The sixth chapter summarizes the main fruits and prospects the future of the research.
