Chongqing Jiangbei, with a very long history as well as an important geographical location, its typical characteristics of a mountain city shows a historical appearance of Chongqing. Its historical architecture could be recognized as significant records of the development of Chongqing, both in cityscape and civilization.In recent years, many important architectures of historical values disappeared in parallel with the construction of modern Jiangbei. To rescue these invaluable historical architectures, and maintain and elongate a memory of Jiangbei, Jinyang Real Estate Agency and Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning of Chongqing University implement an explosive composition for regional architecture, which re-shows representative buildings of old Jiangbei of every period in the form of collection in allopatry, forming a special but traditional pedestrian street to exhibit the architectural style and city image.This thesis focuses on the designing process of cq-image pedestrian street, from outside to inside, first entirely and then partially, which makes a whole analysis of general conception, planning layout, architecture design as well as afforestation technology and etc. It is summarized that the sole of architecture design which is based on the original architectures should comprehend the traditional culture and the property of spatial origin.This thesis is divided into five chapters:Chapter I is the analysis of the historical evolution of Jiangbei and its typical architecture styles and characteristics.Chapter II states the general conception and design idea of cq-image pedestrian street project.Chapter III states how to make the pedestrian street with a property of traditional town. This chapter emphasizes the general planning layout and spatial organization from the outside view.Chapter IV analyzes how to create an architecture spatial morphology with a property of regional culture, including the founding of architecture space and architectural entity.Chapter V investigates the afforestation technology and decoration technology, on the basis of the relationship between the traditional building technology and the modern one, epurating a method of construction with regional property using modern technology.
