In the local clan society of China.,the ancestral temples is an important type of construction under the Patriarchal System. There are a large number of ancestral temples in Han section of China. But with the development of society, and the transformation of the old city and urban movement, the conservation of these ancestral temples is not optimistic, the speed of being damaged and lossing is also very alarming.This paper study on the architecture of ancestral temples in Zigong.I begin the study with the own history of Zigong Salt and its historical and cultural evolution of the master. Through a large number of local inspection and investigation,we known all about the ancestral temples of the clan--including the formation,development, construction of culture and arts of the ancestral temples of the clan,as well as its future direction study.I hope this paper can fill the vacancy of the study on the traditional architectures in Zigong. Bring this type of construction in Sichuan to our attention.The study on the content of this paper is divided into seven chapters:Chapter I, Introduction part. Explain the reason of choosing the ancestral temples in Zigong as the study object.And introduce the background, research methods, ideas, purpose, and so on.Chapter II, The historical and cultural background of the ancestral temples in Zigong, as well as the survey of these temples. With the background research, and the research on the architecture origin and development, we can have a survey of the ancestral temples in Zigong .Chapter III, The location and the layout of the ancestral temples in Zigong. Summed up the impacts of the temple's location, and analyze the layout mode of these architectures.Chapter IV, The architecture space and the environment of the ancestral temples in Zigong. The research is divided into three major sections, including the entrance space, sacrifice space, and the subsidiary space. Conclude some common characteristics of the space creation.Chapter V, The structure and decoration of the ancestral temples in Zigong. Research on the geographical characteristics of the architectures'structure and decoration.Chapter VI, Research on an example of ancestral temples in Zigong. Chose Li's ancestral temple as an example, because of its large scale and typicality. Research on its background, the location and layout, the architecture space and environment, as well as the structure and decoration.Chapter VII, conclusion. Conclude the historical and cultural value of ancestral temples in Zigong. Thinking about how to protect and reconstruct these traditional architectures.
