The destruction of high temperature rutting and inadequate durability to the asphalt pavement has become of great important issue for global pavement construction at present. Large Stone Pervious Asphalt Mixes (LSPM) has the good properties of eliminating the reflect crack and resistance rut, it can effectively solve the problems. Based on the foreign research results, the match ratio design method and the property in road application are studied in this dissertation, the main results are:The dissertation plainly analyses composition and structure of LSPM, based on the asphalt mixture composition theory. It is found that due to the integrity skeleton formed by the coarse aggregate, the asphalt mixture can resist plastic deform and shear deform. The influence factors of mixes strength include: aggregate match ratio, asphalt penetration, soften point, viscosity, oil containing and irregularities of mixes, etc.Through the comparison of gradation design method of NCHRP report 386method and Bailey method, analyzed the gradation form and volume index, then got the design method of gradation and the feasible gradation.The large-scale Marshall design method and the gyration compact void design method are used individually to study LSPM for its property. Uses the gyration compact void design method, the high compaction density can be obtained. But the large-scale Marshall design method is still used more extensively in domestic, the control method should be determined by comparing the two methods.LSPM high temperature stability is studied by wheel track test, it is found that the rutting resistance of LSPM is far great than that of the normal HMA, besides, the aggregate gradation of LSPM and skeleton-compact structure is vital to the rutting resistance. Lastly LSPM water stability is studied by water submerged large scale Marshall and the freeze-thraw test, and it is found that the water damage resistance is well.
