| The destruction of high temperature rutting and inadequate durability to the asphalt pavement has become of great important issue for global pavement construction at present. Through deeply studying and researching a large number of domestic and abroad documents concerning the subject, this article has introduced Large-Stone Asphalt Mixes (LSM) that is successfully popularizing applied in America, Australia and etc. in recent years. Focused on the structure and component of asphalt mixture, the article has gone on a series of test about the different gradations of LSM, and analyzed the influence the big aggregate (size and amount) put on the pavement performance. Compared with small stone asphalt mixes, the result indicates LSM with good gradation possessing excellent performance. Meanwhile, aiming at different functions in the structure of pavement, the article has put forward LSM抯 design method, L - law, subject to our local condition based on the mixture of Marshall抯 and Superpave抯 design method. At last, the article has researched the construction of LSM based on the specific project. We sincerely hope the achievements of this research can be popularized and applied in settling the destruction of high temperature rutting and the inadequate durability. |
