| The study based on the plan and architecture design of Wuhan artist village. It further trimmed down the general theory of passive building design in regions of hot in summer and cold in winter, and used in the design. The effect was validated by the software, and the design was corrected again according to the simulation result. Then brought forward the conclusion..Based on plentiful reading and seeing about the architectures, the study collected the general theory and works of passive building design in and abroad, summarized and sorts according to personal understanding, as a consult of the artist village design.Through a mass of research data, the study summarized the climate character of Wuhan, researched the architecture energy condition, and analyzed the key factors.In the process of the plan and architecture design, through the research and analysis, the study found out the key factors which impacted the design. For example, climate condition, exploitation grade, landscape resource, site actuality, direction and shape of the architecture, etc, as a consult of the use of passive building design theory. The emphases of passive building design theory centralized at natural aeration and day lighting, heat preservation and insulation capability of surface structure, design and account of the conformation which can keep sunshine out, passive sunshine house, air condition system of pipeline underground, etc.Lastly, the study simulated and validated the effect of natural aeration inside and outside, analyzed the disadvantage of design and corrected.The study idea is based on the principles of theory to practice, from a conceptual idea to a practical object, from the ideology down to the practical design conclusion. This research and study provided an opportunity to develop a practical research programmer structure in the form of ideal passive design model. This passive design idea is a suggestive one in the sense that it reflects an ideal solution to basic ecological designs goals.
