Along rapidly development of our country economic, the contradiction of energy is more and more obvious, architecture energy-consuming is increasing gradually while urban residential living standard is improving. For easing energy crisis and coming true sustainable development, it is necessary to realize architecture energy-saving in the premise of providing high living standard to the urban residential. Windows is a weak part of buildings'external retaining structures, setting window external shade facilities is one of the main technology methods to improve windows'heat-preserving and insulation functions. But external shade facilities are not correctly used in the most residential architecture. As a result, it is necessary to design optimized of the shade facilities.The thesis which takes the sustainable development architecture theory as guidelines from the angle of energy-efficient, based on architecture heat environment theory and architecture technology structure theory, uses the research method of the combination of theory research and demonstration research which mainly focuses on demonstration research to explore the optimization design ways of window external shade facilities on residential architecture by the two respects of reference point and structure design optimization, based on the research of the status quo, structure characteristic about residential buildings'external shade facilities and its evaluation criterion on energy-saving effect. The paper is divided into three parts the design logos and methods of modern steel structure architecture this thesis according to analyze the problems of resident buildings'shade facilities design and application, overviews the reasons of the situation and provides suggestions and methods.The first part is around background and theory research which includes chapterⅠa nd chapterⅡ. ChapterⅠelaborates the research background, intent, method and basic frame of the article; and chapterⅡgives definition to those correlative concepts and expatiate the research theory base.The second part is about noumenon research, which comprises chapterⅢ, chapterⅣand chapterⅤ. ChapterⅢbrings forward the optimization design research disquisition thought of residential buildings'window shade facilities by optimizing structure design and reference point, which based on to sum up the status quo of residential buildings'external shade facilities and analyze its reasons. ChapterⅣ expatiates amply the aim, conditions and design approach of structure optimization deign approach. ChapterⅤput forward firstly the optimization method of reference point, then expatiates amply its research base, computational formulas and the characteristics and approach of application, which is on the base of analyzing the issues about the presence window external shade facilities reference point in detail. ChapterⅥintroduces in detail the conceptualization design about the flexibility, generality and self—adjustment external shade facilities system from standardization, specialization and industrialization.The third part is the conclusion portion,then advance the direction and content of the next research.The optimization method of reference point about external shade facilities elicited by this paper can provide effective reference for correct definition the connotations of relative parameters and consummating the existed detection standard of energy-saving. And the conceptualization design about the flexibility, generality and self—adjustment external shade facilities system gives one mode for the development of adjustable external shade facilities.
