With the development of society and the blooming of information and auto-techniques , people are relying more on the electric power and thus demanding higher requirements on the reliability of power supply system .Now the capability of power is getting larger. The configuration of electric system is getting more complex. The equipments are getting more intricacy . So to ensure the power system going safely, the dependability of equipments is very important. Thus not only to improving on equipments but also stakeout of the electric equipments and electric system is importance and indispensable.Now, monitoring nodes usually adopt RS485 serical bus to communicate with computers in field. But RS485 has some problem. Its baud rate is low. It's difficult to realize free communications among all notes and the network's installation is complex. Otherwise, RS485 bus can't connerct with computer directly except for transferring the protocol. Now there are many ways to solve this problem such as Ethernet, GSM, GPRS, CDMA. The techniques of network is mature and by litter costing. So it is applied in date-transfers.In this thesis, a communication power supply monitoring system bases on GSM and SMS. In local, the monitoring part use monitoring terminal and monitoring equipments to get real-time monitor to the course's parameter. Thanks to the GSM, the monitoring center or the manager can set control information to the monitoring terminal and control the monitoring terminal. It is feasible, credibility, simple to build and without transferring the protocol. In this thesis, it will introduce how the cheap way SMS send information detailedly. There are details about the connect of the hardwares in the thesis. At last, the test realizes the high-speed data collection and communication successfully. It proves that the system based on Ethernet bus is feasible.
