Scale can reduce the equipment performance, which brings huge economic loss for the industry and agriculture production. The traditional descaling,anti-scaling methods have shortcomings such as environment pollution,poor effect,high expenses. Because of the merits of simple usage,no pollution, the technology of electromagnetic field gets the wide attention.This article elaborated the principle of the descaling/anti-scaling technology of electromagnetic field, and every kind of factor that affects the disposal effect. Based on this, then designed an electromagnetic descaling/anti-scaling equipment using complex programmable logic device (CPLD), the flash memory and the high-power device with EDA tool. This equipment can produce sole frequency signal and swept square-wave signal, the two kinds of signals may alternate through the exterior selection switch, and we can adjust their amplitude and frequency to meet the requirement of the experiment research. Using the electromagnetic descaling/anti-scaling device, we carried out the static experiment taking calcium carbonate (CaCO3 ) as object. By using the coordinate titrimetric method, we measured the electromagnetic field frequency and amplitude, which greatly influenced the CaCO3 solubility and crystallization velocity, and observed the CaCO3 crystal structure change through the electron microscope.Taking the laboratory circulation piping system as the platform, this article also studied the swept square-wave signal's(composed of the frequency discovered from the static experiment) descaling effect to different water quality, by using the experimental techniques such as simulation scaling,lacing film experiment,dynamic experiment.The research shows that under the sur-electromagnetic field, the CaCO3 solubility,crystallization velocity and crystal structure change obviously, furthermore, the effect alters along with the sur-electromagnetic field frequency and amplitude change. The chosen swept square-wave signal has good effect on the manual simulation hard water, its descaling rate can reach above 90%; While to the oil field water sample, the effect is so bad that the descaling rate is under 61%. In summary, the electromagnetic field has obvious effect on descaling,anti-scaling, meanwhile its effect has much to do with the sur-signal frequency and the water ingredient. So according to different environment, we can adjust specifically to achieve the desired effect.
