Development Of The Constant Voltage Meridian And Acupoints Information Detection System

Being an important part of Chinese medicine, meridian theory is applied everywhere in clinical application as therapy direction. It is the theoretical basis of traditional medicine.When human diseases and pathological changes occur, electrical properties of electric material and thermal conductive material in meridian will vary. As a result, resistance value of meridian changes. Different kinds of changes represent different diseases and visceral pathological changes. Even tiny variation can be premonition of certain kind of disease, thus the resistance value variation should be detected.With the help of combination of electrical technology and computer science, the constant voltage meridian and acupoints information detection system which is based on traditional meridian theory has been developed. This system can collect the electric information of human acupoints. The information is processed by the microcontroller and sent to PC for comparison with expert database. Then, the user's health situation can be acquired and displayed accurately.According to meridian information collection theory, hardware design is completed to collect and process human acupoints information. Instead of traditional current stimulation method, we introduce constant reference voltage at the entrance of detection circuit. Acquired certain acupoint voltage is gathered by the microcontroller, and then processed data is sent to PC through USB port.Software design of the system consists of two parts: microcontroller program and PC program. The former is in charge of collection, processing and transmission of the meridian information in virtue of hardware circuit. What's more, it can also analyze human health situation through expert system based on traditional meridian theory and export summary of relative information. To avoid extra workload caused by unknown accidents, for example power cut, breakpoint restore function is introduced to enhance measurement efficiency in PC program.Through a number of stimulant experiments using substitute resistance and clinical experiments at Accessorial Hospital of Chinese Medicine College of Heilongjiang, it is proved that the constant voltage meridian and acupoints information detection system is accurate, reliable and of great potential and commercial foreground.
