With the progress of science and technology, CAD/CAM technologies are applied to the area of prosthodontics. It has greatly improved the quality and efficiency of dental restoration and sped up the technology revolution in dental industry. Dental restore CAD/CAM software, as the basic kernel of the dental restore CAD/CAM system, made decisive effect to dental restorations'design and fabrication. Combined with the demands of dental clinic and aimed to develop the function of dental restore CAD/CAM software, relevant theories and key technologies of the dental modeling are studied in the dissertation. Base on this, relevant function modules are developed. The main contents and achievements are as follows:⑴Triangle mesh offsetting algorithm is studied. To avoid self-intersection, two offsetting algorithms are studied. One is basing on vertex normal, which is used for small value and high precision offset, the other is basing on implicit surface, which is used for large value and little self-intersection offset. And then the function of triangle mesh offsetting within dental restore software is developed.⑵Self-intersection of triangle mesh removal algorithm is studied. Via testing triangle-triangle intersections, deleting triangles with self-intersection and irregular triangles, regular holes are shaped in mesh surface. With repairing the holes, a regular mesh without self-intersection is reconstruction.⑶The standard tooth database function of dental restore software is studied. The physic tier of the database is established by standard tooth crowns,standard bridges and standard connecters. The reuse attribute of the database is achieved with the help of sick information database which is build other, and the entire design function is developed as orientation operation of standard tooth.
