Shanghai Creative Industry Parks And The Regeneration Of Industrial Buildings

With the development of Creative Industry, the Creative Industry Parks are blooming in today's Shanghai. From 2005 to the end of 2007, the number of the parks is growing up to 80. Shanghai is the source of Chinese Industry, with a large number of Industrial Bulidings from 1930s to 1940s. More than 2/3 parks were built by making use of old industial bulidings to creat new interesting space. The advantages of the old industial buildings including flexible space and low rent are tempting the creative designer. Developing from spontaneity to adjustment, the regeneration of Shanghai Creative Industry Parks are coming into maturity.Basing on the research of the Shanghai Creative Industry Parks, the paper devided these parks into two types:"Spontaneous Parks"and"Adjustive Parks". In order to summerize advantige and disadvantage of these two kinds of parks, the paper expounded two evaluative criterion:"Park Vigour"and"Park Texture". The matural parks analyzed in this paper are"Tianzi Fang","M50", (Spontaneous Parks)"Tongle Fang","The Bridge 8","X2"(Adjustive Parks) and so on."Park Vigour"were analized through five influencing factors:"People and their activity","Humanization Measure","Reachable and Accommodative","Public Facility and Service"."Park Texture"were analized through three influencing factors:"General Featrue","Placeness","the Reuse of Original". They were consist of the central parts of the paper.At last, the paper provided some recommendation for the strategy, function, method of the regeneration. The purpose was to find some advantage of vigour from"Spontaneous Parks"for the planning of the"Adjustive Parks"and to find some advantage of management from"Adjustive Parks"for the improvement of the"Spontaneous Parks". Shanghai Creative Industry Parks will also share some recommendation of the regeneration.
