Abstract/Summary:
With the development of the railway network, railway grade crossing increased rapidly. Because the conventional administration of railway grade crossing is inefficient, so we are in desire need of a new monitoring system to adapt the railway development demand.Embedded monitoring system uses real-time multitasking operating system, and uses Ethernet to transfer video image data and control signals. At the same time, monitoring terminal can use powerful PC to analyze the image, the function is designed in a small device, access to the LAN or WAN directly, this improved the real-time, stability, reliability of the system, very adapt to the unattached situation.We use Samsung embedded CPU S3C2410 to design a unattached railway monitoring system. By this monitoring system, we can take images from the monitoring place, and compress the images in JPEG format. Besides, the system designs multi-switch control function, can connect various sensors such as temperature, humidity, and can control other outer devices such as infrared lamp. Finally, by using GPRS wireless communicated module and Internet, we can transfer the images to the monitoring terminal. We also design infrared ray inspector module, this module can detect whether there are people or animals in the protected area, if there is attacker in the protected area, the infrared ray inspector module will change, and decide whether call annunciator which is accomplished by GPRS module sending message. At the same time, it can receive command, accomplish remote control.The hardware platform of this system is based on a S3C2410 kernel circuit board, and design external application circuit, including 2 USB main interfaces, 1 USB sub-interface, 2 RSR232 COM interface, system bus drive and extended circuit. At the same time, it supports Ethernet interface, CF interface, LCD interface and so on. Abundant external devices and high efficient CPU platform can provide enough hardware support to the monitoring system, and give more possibility for the whole system design.The design migrates the Linux kernel 2.4.18 to the system, it can run at the hardware platform well. This operating system can provide a good program interface for the upper monitoring system application development. Besides, the drive program of the operating system can provide easier hardware interface.In the monitoring system, we uses USB camera to take images, and compress the images, by Socket program technology, use GPRS communicated module to transfer the compressed images.
