Revitalizing And Development Research For Jin'an River East Bank Waterfront In Fuzhou

As a special zone, the waterfront with its excellent location and feature has become one important part of the city. Therefore there are more and more relative research about it.Jin'an River, the oldest manmade canel of Fuzhou, going through the city from north to south, is one outstanding characteristic of both history and culture for this city. Since last century, the city construction has been focused on the west bank of Jin'an River, where CBD has been established. However, the weaknesses of a big city such as high density of residents, crowded traffic, poor ecological entironment, etc are exposing. Today, it is very necessary to develop the east side. Fortunately it is the newest strategy of Fuzhou to develop the east and south of the city. Jin'an River will become the new center axle in the future development. The waterfront of the east bank will play an important role because of its location and unique scenery resouce.This paper combined with geography, progamming and sociology is revitalizing and development research for Jin'an River's East bank waterfront. At first, it analyzes the domestic and overseas waterfront's development phase and effect; second, it adopts the autoptical method to explain the actuality and exsiting problems of Jin'an River's east bank waterfront, and then uses the questionnaire and deep interview to survey the waterfront's tourists for their demands. Finally, it provides the RBD tactic plan for the waterfront's development.
