The paper researched the measuring and testing techniques of the resonant tunneling bionic vector hydrophone based on the Meso-piezoresistance effect. To testify the electromechanical character, the paper designed several signal extraction circuits according to the design principle of the vector hydrophone. With these circuits, we can verify the performance parameters of the vector hydrophone and the sense organ before they were packaged, such as frequency response, sensitivity and directivity pattern. The receiving sensitivity, directivity pattern and the bearing ability of the vector hydrophone were verified in the authoritative institutes.On the research of the resonant tunneling bionic vector hydrophone, there were two signal extraction circuits were designed and introduced in detail in the paper. The matching bridge circuit was used to realize temperature sensitivity compensation, and the voltage testing circuit was to scan peak and valley of the voltage of negative differential resistance region of micro-structure. Secondly, the oscillation character in the negative differential resistance region of resonant tunneling structure (RTS) was researched. At the same time, the piezoresistive effect of the quantum well thin film was validated through static compression experiment. The output characteristic of the resonant tunneling mechanics sensitive verification structure was verified both by vibration table and centrifuge machine, which are used to test the frequency response, sensitivity and linearity. On the basis of lots of preliminary tests of the hydrophone, sound pressure sensitivity in the air and directivity pattern were tested as well as the ability of receiving sound signal in water. At last, the vector hydrophone was calibrated in standing wave field in the first–class national defense underwater acoustic calibration laboratory. Furthermore, the bearing ability of the hydrophone was also tested under water.In conclusion, the test results showed that the hydrophone not only possessed satisfactory directional pattern, but also presented good low-frequency characteristic, which proved that the testing techniques of the vector hydrophone is feasible and effective. It not only validated the design philosophies of the hydrophone, but also verified accurately their performance parameters. What's more, it was the foundation of the improvement and application in the engineering for the bionic vector hydrophone in future.
