With the development of the building science and technology, many new design methods and new design theories are put forward and applied. Many new pile foundation forms are used in practice at the same time. Thinned pile foundation is one of them.First the settling character of thinned pile foundation are researched by theoretical analysis, and then the 3D FEM is used to analysis the settling character of thinned pile foundation with different pile spacing, pile length, cushion cap rigidity and cushion cap form. Come to the conclusion that length and spacing of pile are the main influencing factors of the settlement of the foundation. Cushion cap rigidity is the main influencing factor of the uneven settlement. The process of bearing capacity displaying about the thinned pile foundation is discussed. It is put forward that foundation settlement with two-way grillage of proper width is less than that with raft.Based on the summary of the current design methods and analysis of this paper, the design method suitable for the collapsible loess ground is put forward, and the specific example is given to verify its feasibility. Meanwhile, the fuzzy optimal selection decision method is used in the optimization of the scheme to make the pile layout more reasonable.
