Multi-Parameter Monitor is a type of medical instrument, which provide clinical care and diagnostics by monitoring and integrating more than one physiological parameters. These years, with the rapid expanding of electronics and computer technology, virtual of main machine and modularization of function unit more and more became in focus.This paper devotes to design a virtual instrument system, which can monitor several physiological parameters, such as ECG, respiration and blood pressure and so on. The system is combination with two main parts, hardware and software.The hardware part mainly implement acquiring and conditioning of the analog signals. At first, three modules is designed to pick up and condition ECG, respiration and blood pressure signals. Followed National Instrument Inc. M series DAQ card, PCI6221 is used to acquire and transform the output of previous modules to a comprehensible form to the PC.In the software part, the program developed in LabVIEW, illustrate the waveform of ECG and respiration, identify and calculate the properties parameter of the signals. In addition, the storage and auto-alarm function is carried out.In general, this system reaches the design requirement. Beside easy to handle and expand, it has practical value and providing a useful reference for the development of virtual medical instrument.
