Pneumatic gear motor has been widely used in industries for its many advantages such as safty, pollution-free, fire-proof etc.. However, as the compressibility of the air, the theoretical research and improving design of a pneumatic motor can be very complicated as to current pneumatic motors have poor performance and low efficiency. The mathematical model of the pneumatic gear motor was established and the optimum design was operated in this paper to solve these problems. The original gear motor was improved. As a result, the efficiency of the motor was improved.The models of torque and flow rate were established by the idea of torque balance and flow rate balance based on gear theory, fluid dynamics and pneumatic technology. In the thesis, input power and output power were derived, the model of motor efficiency was presented. On the base of these, an optimal design was carried out to the gear motor, with maximum efficiency as objective function, pressure of the compressed air supply, lubricant viscosity, radial clearance, axial clearance and velocity as design variables. The optimal parameters of the gear motor were obtained. The structure of gear motor has been improved according to the optimal result.Experimental study of the pneumatic gear motor was operated on the existing roof bolter test bench. The torque-velocity characteristic, the flow-velocity characteristic and the power-velocity characteristic were tested and compared with theoretical calculation result. The test result fits the theory analysis well. The effect of the compressed air pressure, lubricant viscosity and radial clearance on the efficiency of motor was studied by motor experiments in different compressed air pressure, lubricant viscosity and radial clearance. The comparing test of the improved motor and original motor has been operated.The static mathematical model of the gear motor was established by both theoretical derivation, which was verified by experiments and every term has a clear physical sense. An optimal design was oprated for the best efficiency based on above. And the original gear motor has been improved according to the optimal result. The work of model building, optimization design and structure improvement on the motor has great theoretical significance and practical value on the gear pneumatic motor. |
