The thermal efficiency of the boiler is an important technical and economic index which reflects the operation economy of it. For the thermal power plant, boiler efficiency test is a very important routine test. Because of various kinds of uncertain factor, there are errors between test data and true value. We usually adopted the analytical method of the error to make some analysis to the test result in the past. In recent years, uncertainty analysis replaces error analysis gradually. This text has researched the calculating methods of heat efficiency of ASME PTC4-1998 and the uncertainty calculation theory in detail. And the uncertainty calculation theory is applied to the thermal efficiency calculation of the boiler.
