This thesis, based on a real project, Dongyang-Yongkang expressway, demonstrates the contents that need careful consideration in route scheme study at feasibility study stage, including the determination of the so-called corridor region, technical criterion, selection of the two ends of the roads, and comparative analysis of the route scheme. On the other hand, key points about local expressways construction are concluded.Though the analysis of identifying principle and selecting principle of corridor region, the selecting steps are fixed. Following these steps, region located close to the foot of a mountain around basic pan is finally selected as corridor region of Dongyang-yongkang expressway. Characteristics of corridor region selection as expressways in local are concluded. These characteristics include short mileage, more explicit location, some crucial limit brought by the economic arrangement, local highway network and specific terrain, corridor region needing to meet local traffic desire and to reinforce the main framework of expressway network.According to traffic volume forecast by adopting four-stage method, some steps need to be taken to choose the final technical criterion as follows. By studying traffic capacity under different design speed at feasibility study stage, calculating the number of driveways and judging of the standard of services, construction cost at different design speeds is discussed. And, of course, the design speed of existing main framework of expressway network to be connected should be considered. As a result, Dongyang-yongkang expressway adopts bidirectional 4 driveways with 100km/h design speed.Research of selection of the two ends of the roads discusses the content, principle and process of local expressway construction. And it is demonstrated that when the distance between the two ends of the roads and the existing terminal of main framework of expressway network is less than normal value, whether the standard of services can be satisfied. And, after careful analysis, the two ends of Dongyang-yongkang expressway is chosen to be semi-directional style which can satisfy the distance to exiting tunnels of main framework of expressway network and can fit standard of services for C level, although the distance to exiting hinges is above 4km.By comparative analysis of the four roads of Dongyang-yongkang expressway, the affection of the two ends of the roads to route scheme is emphasized. And the optimal route scheme, route scheme A1, A2, A3 and A4, is made choice of after taking cautious account of public opinions, environmental benefit, social benefit and the economic benefit.Expressway in local has just started to be built. This thesis, based on the comparative analysis of the route scheme of Dongyang-Yongkang expressway, demonstrates the contents and characteristics of expressway in local and some valuable conclusions are taken.
