With the rapid development of the Chinese automobile industry, the demand for radial tyre has been blooming with each passing day. As the main equipment of the manufacture of radial tyre, the steel cord body ply cutter still depend on importing from other countries. it's a disadvantage for our country's tyre industry. In order to change this adverse situation, some domestic rubber enterprises begin to develop the steel cord body ply cutter independently.This thesis selects one new type steel cord body ply cutter developed by the domestic enterprise independently as the research object. In order to provide the theoretic foundation for the choice of original motor and transmission equipment of the steel cord body ply cutter, mechanism dynamics analysis has been conducted firstly with virtual prototype technology and the mechanical demand has been studied Considering the movement and force, combining the finite element technology, effective solution has been put forward to the noise and vibration question appearing to the working course of the cutter. The concrete content of the thesis includes mainly:First, the performance demand for the cutter has been studied, the structure and working principle has been discussed, the main design parameter has been put forward.Secondly, three-dimensional entity's modeling has been constructed. The kinematics and dynamics models have been established. The virtual prototyping has been constructed.Then, simulation of the system has been done. With the result of simulation, some main parameters of the original motor and the transmission equipment have been selected, the kinematics and dynamics performance of the cutter has been validated .Finally, the finite element analysis to the stress and displacement of the key parts has been carried on. Considering the analysis result and requirement of project, the improvement of the structure and size has been carried on, the noise and vibration has been reduced.At present, the research of the steel cord body ply cutter is at the threshold. The dynamics analysis and structure design method of the steel cord body ply cutter based on the virtual prototype technology which has been presented in this thesis, and the achievement, have certain reference and actual application value.
