In recent years, Chongqing promote highway basic infrastructure development in gross and quality by tackling the opportunity of westward exploitation and municipality directly under the Central Government. But Chongqing highway disasters often happen because of the limit in landform, the low technique rank, fund and manpower, and the enough rainwater, the concentrated rainfall. The highway disasters mostly express in linear disaster, tall slope disaster, subgrade settlement, simple tunnel disaster, and so on. So, it is very content to research highway disaster.Based on the Chongqing highway department westward traffic construction technologically subsidized project of "the Study of Chongqing National and Provincial Highway Resistance Disaster Ability Evaluation and Technical Countermeasure", through investigate and collect highway disasters data, according as Chongqing especial landform, physiognomy, geology, influence of human activity, the article research the disasters characteristic, style, dimensional distribution, cause and resistance disasters ability evaluation by systems engineering, mathematical statistics, fuzzy evaluation and the analytic hierarchy process. The result indicate that Chongqing national and provincial highway disasters are comparatively serious, disasters have obvious character of divided area growth, holistic resistance disaster ability is weak, northeastern and southeastern ability is weaker, mid ability is weak, western ability is commonly. Our research of Chongqing national and provincial highway disasters may provide some valuable experience for the similar work in the future.
