| With the development of computer technique and information industry, CAD technique and parametric technique are widely used in mechanical field. The development of parametric CAD system is the trend of digital and information producing in the enterprise. At present, gear reducer is a mechanical driving device which is extensively applied in mechanism. But designing reducer is a perplexing and iterative process because of its complicated structure. The paper expounds the techniques of building a 3D parametric CAD system of involute planetary reducer based on Pro/E. Through this system, users can interactively design all parts of the reducer on the visual circumstance. This system not only improves designing quality and efficiency, but also be of value to movement simulation and finite element analysis. So it satisfies the development of modern designing.In the system, the operating platform is Windows2000. VC++6.0 is the integrated development environment. Pro/TOOLKIT is the development tool. Pro/ENGINEER WILDFIRE is parametric CAD platform. The system can be divided into inputting-parameter module, designing and computing module, parametric designing module, designing valuation module, standard part library module and designing document management module. Parameters which are input by users can be saved to a primary-data file in the inputting-parameter module. Designing and computing module includes optimum design of gear driver and structure design of reducer. The optimum method is dimensionality reduction and exhaustivity in this module. Users can conveniently change dimensions of products in the designing process, which reduces the designing cost. The system can check stiffness and hardness of the gear driver in designing valuation module, which will guarantee gear reliability. Designers can assemble all parts of reducer by calling part library module. At the meantime they can add or delete standard parts in this module. Designing documents would be generated in designing document module, which is convenient to manage data and offer references for further designing. |
