With the development of science and technology, the modern high-rise building isdeveloped in the comprehensive direction with complicated figures and various functions, andthe high-rise building with transfer floor is increasingly applied in recent years. The girdertransfer floor is widely used in design of high-rise buildings with the characteristics ofclear-edge, clear-channel, simple structure and so on. However the transfer beam usually haslarge deadweight caused by large size, as a result a great deal of materials are needed inbuilding. Further more the columns are easily built stronger than the beams, which isunfavorable to the seism resistance. So this paper tries to solve these problems by optimumdesign begin with changing the form of transfer floor.Taking a high-rise building with girder transfer floor as an example, this paper set up anintegrated optimization model including topology optimum design of the transfer floor andsize optimum design of beams and columns. First, optimizes the transfer floor using the SIMPtopology optimization theory, then constructs new transfer forms according to the optimumtopology. Then ANSYS, a finite-element analysis program, is employed to conduct dynamicalanalysis, including modal analysis, response spectrum analysis and so on. By doing this, thebest design scheme is selected.A new model according to the best design scheme is set up using the APDL, and thencost based and performance based seismic design are implemented to the structurerespectively. By doing this, the optimum sizes of the construction member are gotten. Theformer design can make sure the initial cost is the lowest meanwhile the latter can minimizethe total cost in the structure's life circle. The results prove that performance based seismicdesign is the better one because it takes technique, economic, society etc. into considerationbased on the cost-effective criterion. So this method is more reasonable and valuable in thepractice.
