Study On Spatial Planning Of Rural Human Settlements

Improving the quality of rural human settlements is an important part of China new countryside construction and a hot research field of urban and rural planning.First, from domestic and oversea human settlements related research, through systematically analyzing existent results of rural planning, rural space systems and rural human settlements, the paper points out the outstanding problem of the current study is that using the theories and methods of urban planning directly to solve the issues of rural planning and construction, ignoring the characteristics of rural settlements space. Construction of the new theories, methods and technological system of rural human settlements should be researched urgently.The paper analyzes rural characteristics deeply from geography and sociology perspective, and sums up the particularity of village planning, then determines that rural planning and rural human settlements must be based on the following four aspects, which is organic update of villages, continuation of traditional village culture, harmony between man and nature, the new village management structure. The theoretical framework on spatial planning of rural human settlements is spatial planning of six systems, including water systems, energy systems, transport systems, building systems, environmental systems and systems of social works. Six systems independent and interrelated constitute the large system of rural human settlements.The paper chooses Kunshan as a case, including regional and village levels, because of its developed economy and typical countryside construction. Regional level focuses on zoning for land use, size of rural population and distribution of settlements; village level designs specific programs of rural hunman settlements planning, taking Lianhu Village in Jinxi Town and Jinhua Village in Zhangpu Town as example.
