Wind energy is a kind of clean regenerative energy. With more attention paid to energy short and environment pollution, it gains more regard to generate electricity by wind turbine. Wind energy technology has developed rapidly with the science and technology uninterrupted growth. In all over the world, more and more large wind turbine generators have established consecutively and brought into service. The prospect of wind energy marketplace becomes vast extraordinarily. However, the design and business application of wind turbine in our country, especially large-scale megawatt prototypes, have a lot of problems to be solved. In order to maintain over its anticipated service life, and can withstand the assumed loads within the prescribed level of safety and possess a sufficient degree of durability and robustness, it is necessary to design and research on the crucial elements of wind turbine at first. The relatively complex three-dimensional geometry of rotor hub is an important component. The design of hub has direct impact the operation of wind turbine in its anticipated service life. Therefore, it is necessary to calculate static and fatigue analysis under various ultimate loads, which can display the distribution of stress, and find out the most dangerous locations. Under this background, the project is to carry out strength analysis to the crucial elements of 1.5MW wind turbine, which responds to the need of some enterprise.Based on the theory of finite element method, the main contents are following:â‘ According to the modeling principle of finite element method, two finite element models have been established based on its geometric model through simplification processes. One model consists of tetrahedron elements, which has been set simply, and divided mesh grid by automeshing. The other is hexahedron element model. The three-dimensional grid is complicated, especially hexahedron, which has been generated by manual dividing. On the basis of this, two types of model have been carried out meticulous analysis and comparison.â‘¡The ultimate strength and fatigue analysis have been researched on finite element model of hub. The result is compared with the data of hub of 2MW wind turbine calculated by some enterprise, which has verified correctness of this method by the main body of paper. This hub has sufficient intensity and life time.â‘¢To reduce the cost and weight, the optimum design of the hub has been in progress based on intension analysis, getting a group optimizing parameters of the hub.According to the above, it provides scientific and credible basis to the analysis and self design on the rotor hub of large wind generator, and great theoretical significance and project application to enterprises to solve safety and life problem for hub. In addition, it settles grounded basis for improving technical level of wind generator equipment, reducing cost of wind generation, promoting market competition capacity and implementing domestic wind generator with independent intellectual property rights.
