In recent years, growing attention has been focused on environmental protection, energy shortage and energy issues. It is an inevitable trend to adjust the energy strategy for our country to construct a harmonious society. It is necessary to maintain our country's rapid economic development and deal with the increasingly serious problem of energy shortage and environmental pollution problem. The renewable energy is an important way to solve this problem. As the wind energy power generation has unparalleled advantages comparing with the other fuel, it is considered an ideal and clean energy.In order to promote the capability of design and manufacturing of wind turbine in china, more study should be done in the field of wind turbine design and analysis. Static strength and mode analysis of wind turbine nacelle chassis with finite element method is the basis of optimizing design, and reasonable chassis structure affects the stable operation of the wind turbine. Nacelle chassis not only supports the shaft, principal shaft bearing seat, gear box and generator, but also is influenced by resistance from around air. The static strength, fatigue, natural frequency and vibration mode were analyzed using the finite element software. The strength was checked up and satisfied with the demand of material strength. In order to reduce the stress concentration, the quality of the chassis is optimized as the objective function. And the result provides scientific basis for the future design.
