The Initial Research And Control On The Mechanism Of The Bankfailure In The Middle And Lower Reaches Of The Yangtze River

The problem on the bankfailure mechanism of the Yangtze River is a complicated problem involving the fluvial process and river dynamics.Firstly, based upon the results of summing-up the research status about the mechanism of the bankfailure,the channel feature and the bankfailure distribution characteristic in the middle and lower Yangtze River are generalized in the second chapter.Secondly, the bankfailure characteristic is analyzed in the fourth chapter. The bankfaiture mechanism is initially analyzed and studied,integrating the sediment dynamics,the fluvial process and hydraulics. We drew a conclusion that the bankfailure is the specific representation of the plane deformation of the channel,which is controlled by the law of the fluvial process.Moreover, the paper systematically analyzes how the bank sediment is transported by the flow and deduces the velocity formula of the initial motion of the erosive sand on the slope,and describes the characteristic of flow and sediment movement during the bankfailure process in one hydrologic year.At last,the control measures of the bankfailure are proposed. The types and applicable condition of the revetment works,the common new technologies and new material of the bank protection works are introduced in detail.
